Dear William Ippolito Graham:

I was sorry to read of the challenges you have experienced at the end of the Winter term and understand the impact that COVID 19 has had on your studies once you returned home. I have carefully considered your appeal to receive Aegrotat Standing in ENGL 100 and SOCY 122 (FW 2019/2020) based on those circumstances. After reviewing your file, I have decided to deny your request for Aegrotat Standing but would like to offer you Credit Standing in these courses instead.

I do recognize the severity of the issue that you reported regarding the harassment that you received while still in residence but it appears that the outstanding work in your classes seems to coincide more with the COVID disruption. Because of this, I am willing to provide you with Credit Standing in these courses based on the circumstances outlined and the documentation you have provided. If you would like to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter and we will make the appropriate changes to your transcript.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
