I was sorry to read of the internet challenges you experienced due to COVID19 as well as the health related challenges you experienced this summer. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop HIST 270 (S 2020) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your appeal letter and documentation, I have decided to grant your request.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. Please ensure you assess your progress in your courses prior to the academic drop date deadlines. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop your courses prior to that deadline date. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

I encourage you to continue to work with your health care professionals Mollie, and if your health related challenges persist, you might want to register with QSAS who can help support you in both your courses and your health issues.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
