I have carefully considered your appeal seeking Aegrotat standing in POLS 212 (W 2020). After reviewing your file, the documentation you submitted as well as the information supplied by the instructor about your performance in this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.

The instructor has already submitted a replacement grade based on the work you have completed which will appear on your transcript as C+ along with the notation €œAegrotat: estimated grade€.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances, but I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. Going forward, I would encourage you to work with your health care professionals, including your counsellor from QSAS, to manage both your health and academics. This would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and dropping courses which are affected by your extenuating circumstances.
