I have reviewed your appeal to drop HLTH 101 and GLPH 271 (Summer 2020) after the academic deadline. After careful consideration of the circumstances outlined in your appeal letter and the supporting documentation supplied, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grades in HLTH 101 and GLPH 271 will appear on your transcript with a DR notation.

I have granted this appeal based on your extenuating circumstances but need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage a chronic condition. An appeal based on the same circumstances may not be granted in the future. Going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies before the drop deadline of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by the deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I encourage you to consider registering with QSAS, if you have not done so already, and work with an accommodation advisor who may be able to help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges.
