Course: PSYC 271
Term: Fall
Year: 2018
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
CJ Heart:
I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC 271 (Summer 2018) and to drop PSYC 271 (Fall 2018) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I acknowledge the smart academic decision that you made by attempting this course a second time and have granted this appeal based on the extenuating circumstances that you reported as well as the supporting documentation that you supplied. Going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.
I encourage you to consider registering with QSAS, if you have not done so already, and work with an accommodation advisor who may be able to help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
