I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PHIL 362 (F 2018) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I was sorry to read about the confusion you experienced regarding dropping this course in SOLUS. My investigation into this issue revealed that Nancy Stalay was in fact not the instructor of PHIL 362 during the Fall 2018 term and so that was why you didn€™t show up on her class list at that time.

I am confident that in the future you will make every effort to inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. Please ensure you assess your progress in your courses or discuss your options with an Academic Advisor before the drop deadline of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the course before the deadline. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
