Dear Maxwell Quackenbush,

I have reviewed our appeal requesting to add CISC 327, CISC 360, CISC 447 (F 2020) and CISC 322, CISC 340 (W 2021) past the academic deadline and have decided the following:

1. To grant your request to add CISC 360 and CISC 447 (F 2020) since the instructors have agreed that you can feasibly catch up in these courses. Tuition fees for these courses will be charged to your student account once they have been added to your transcript.

It is your responsibility to catch up on any late or missed work in these courses and the instructors are not obligated to accommodate any student due to late registration. I would suggest you contact your instructors to discuss the best way to catch up in these courses. Please ensure that you monitor your academic progress very carefully and drop courses as needed within the academic deadlines. Registering late for a course is not considered grounds for appealing to drop after the published deadline.

You will be added to OnQ once you are registered, which should be within the next couple of days.

2. To deny your request to add CISC 327, CISC 322 and CISC 340 late. CISC 327 is currently closed/full and we will not add a student into a course that is currently full. CISC 322 and CISC 340 are Winter term courses and you can add those yourself on SOLUS starting on November 9th.

Going forward, I suggest that you inform yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page and ensure you add courses by the last date to add deadline

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, information and deadlines can be found at www.queensu.ca/artsci/students-at-queens/academic-appeals (click on €œBoard of Studies€). Do not use the on-line application for this process. You may contact the Office of the University Ombudsperson for information about student rights and responsibilities as well as guidance on policy and procedure (www.queensu.ca/ombuds).

Best of luck in these courses.

Sincerely,

(for) Jenn Stephenson
