Dear Gillian Duff:
I have reviewed your appeal to request Credit Standing in MATH 121, and PHYS 117 (Fall/Winter 2019/2020). After careful consideration of the information you provided in your appeal letter and the information supplied by the instructors surrounding these courses, I have decided to grant your appeal.
Your grades in MATH 121, and PHYS 117 will appear on your transcript as CR.
I have granted this appeal based on the documentation that you provided that verified that you were away during the available dates to apply for the COVID 19 remedies that were offered to students for Winter term courses. I acknowledge that you missed the May 20th deadline as well as the June 10th deadline extension as you were working in an area with limited internet access. In the future, I ask that you connect with the Arts and Science Student Services Office at https://www.queensu.ca/artsci/about/contacts if you find yourself in a similar situation where you foresee that you will be unable to meet an academic deadline such as this.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
