Decision Letter

Appeal Number: 6922
Decision Date: October 19, 2020
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: David Thomson Taylor
Student Email: 16dstt@queensu.ca

Dear David Taylor:

I have carefully considered your appeal to waive the 21-day or one term deadline. After reviewing your appeal, I must unfortunately deny your request.

Appeal Regulation 3.2 states that a student cannot appeal after 21 days of graduation and since you graduated in June 2020, you are not eligible to submit an appeal.

In addition, even if I did waive the above noted 21 day appeal, there is a second appeal regulation (3.2.2.1 €“21-Day Appeal Timeline) which states that there is a 21-day deadline to submit an appeal related to the review of an Instructors€™ decision on grading of term work or final examinations (see Academic Regulation 11) and that time line too has expired.

If you wish to appeal the Associate Dean€™s decision to the Board of Studies, information and deadlines can be found at www.queensu.ca/artsci/students-at-queens/academic-appeals (click on €œBoard of Studies€). Do not use the on-line application for this process. You may contact the Office of the University Ombudsperson for information about student rights and responsibilities as well as guidance on policy and procedure (www.queensu.ca/ombuds).

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
