Dear Carolina Camacho Cadena:

I am sorry to read of the health related challenges you experienced during Fall term 2019 and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop MATH 334 (F 2019) after the drop date and receive Credit standing in MATH 326 (F 2019). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your requests based on the circumstances outlined.

Carolina, this is a lenient decision since the information we received from the instructor in MATH 326 indicates that you did not successfully pass the final exam which is a clear indicator that the grade earned is a true representation of the learning outcomes met. However, I have granted the Credit standing based on your documentation which was supportive of the Fall term timeline.

Going forward, I strongly suggest that you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of term. If you have fallen behind in your studies due to your health or other extenuating circumstances, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop deadline date. The appeal process is not designed to address challenges which occurred prior to the drop date deadline.

I am pleased to have read that you are continuing to work with your Counsellor and that your health has improved. Best of luck with your courses this term

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
