Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Harley Easton
Student Email: 16hae@queensu.ca
Course: STAT 361
Term: Fall
Year: 2020
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Harley Easton:
I was sorry to have read in your letter of appeal of the passing of your grandparents and I am very sorry for your loss. No doubt that has been difficult for you and your family and I will certainly grant your appeal to drop STAT 361 (F 2020) past the academic deadline based on that circumstance.
I encourage you to follow through with your plan to reach out to our Student Wellness Services office Harley if you need to discuss these difficult losses with someone who can offer you the support you may require. Of course, also continuing to work with your Physician is highly recommended as well. For your information, Student Wellness Services is offering counselling remotely during this time.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
