Dear Coleman Campbell:

I was sorry to read of the challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal and I have carefully considered your request to drop ARTH 214 and ECON 255 (F 2020) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on your circumstances but also because of the the important steps you have taken to seek out supports to help you through this difficult time. This demonstrates to me a strong commitment to learning how to manage your challenges. I am also pleased to see that you have also registered with QSAS who will help you manage both your health and your academics. It is my expectation that, since you are now registered with QSAS, that you will assess your progress in your courses with your QSAS Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
