Appeal Number: 7219
Decision Date: February 1, 2021
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Emily Phelan
Student Email: 18ep17@queensu.ca
Dear Emily Phelan,
I am sorry to have read in your appeal letter the challenges you experienced last summer and I have reviewed your appeal to change the grade you received in BCHM 218 (S 2020) to Credit standing. After careful consideration of the documentation you submitted and the information supplied by the instructor about the circumstances surrounding this course, I have decided to grant your appeal.
Your grade in this course will appear on your transcript as CR.
I am pleased to see that you are now registered with QSAS who will help you manage both your health and your academics. It is my expectation that, since you are registered with QSAS, you will assess your progress in your courses with your QSAS Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
I encourage you to continue to work with your health care professionals and wish you continued success with your degree progression.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
