Dear Adam Sedore:

I was sorry to read that you experienced some challenges related to your mental health during the Fall term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop KNPE 252, KNPE 225 and KNPE 251 (F 2020) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on your documentation and notice that your physician indicates this condition has been chronic. I strongly urge you to consider registering with QSAS, if you have not done so already. QSAS can help you manage your chronic health condition as well as your academics. I also encourage you to carefully assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline and is not designed to help manage a chronic condition.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
