Appeal Number: 7414
Decision Date: March 5, 2021
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Xiaoyue Ai
Student Email: 18xa@queensu.ca
Dear Xiaoyue Ai:
Your request to apply for 6.0 units on an International Letter of Permission during the Summer 2021 term has been approved on behalf of the Associate Dean (Academics).
As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that €œnormally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen€™s.€ However, after reviewing your appeal, we will allow you to request 6.0 units of 300-level FILM courses from Soochow University in China on an International Letter of Permission, in addition to the 6.0 units that you have already transferred to the Fall 2020 term.
You may now apply for an International Letter of Permission through the International Programs Office. We would strongly suggest that you remain closely connected with this office so that you can be made aware of potential disruptions to your international studies if they shall happen.
Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the International Programs office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.
Finally, please be advised that a student can complete a maximum of 57.0 transfer units towards their Honours degree program (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3).
We wish you well in your studies.
Yours sincerely,
Academic Appeals Office
on behalf of Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
