I have carefully considered your appeal for Aegrotat Standing in POLS 243 and POLS 261 (Fall 2020) and after reviewing your file, I have decided the following:
To deny your request to receive Aegrotat Standing in POLS 243 and POLS 261 (Fall 2020) Aegrotat estimated standing in a course is reserved for situations in which a student, who has completed and passed at least 60 of the work for a course, but because of illness or other extenuating circumstances beyond his or her control, is unable to complete all the work of the course (see Academic Regulation 6)€ I acknowledge that your health was impacted at the end of the Fall term, but your documentation indicates that this situation was resolved on January 7th, 2021. I see that your instructor for POLS 243 has already approved an Incomplete Grade on your transcript to allow you additional time to complete the outstanding components in this class. I also see that you are actively completing Winter 2021 term classes. With the absence of documentation from a professional that verifies that you are currently experiencing extenuating circumstances that are preventing you from being able to complete the outstanding work in POLS 243 and POLS 261, I am not able to grant your request for Aegrotat Standing at this time. I am however, willing to provide you with an Extension of an Incomplete Grade in both of these courses to allow you until the end of the Summer 2021 term to complete them. It is your responsibility to connect with both Professor McGarry and Professor Cox to make the arrangements.
