Course: CISC 351
Term: Winter

Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Matthew Rezkalla:

I was sorry to read of the circumstances you outlined and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 351 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Please note that, as is standard practise, the late drop will be reflected on your transcript with a notation of DR and that you will not receive a tuition refund.
If you wish to appeal for a tuition refund, you must do so through the Registrar€™s Office. Here is a link to their appeal form: http://www.queensu.ca/registrar/sites/webpublish.queensu.ca.uregwww/files/files/Tuition_Fee_Amendment_Appeal_Form.pdf

I would like to note that I have exercised some leniency in this decision, acknowledging that you missed the drop date deadline by only a few days, as well as the challenges you outlined. Going forward, I am confident you will be more mindful of the deadline and suggest that you drop your courses prior to the drop date deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in the balance of your courses this term.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
