Student Name: Suthaharan Thanabalasingam
Student Email: 8st8@queensu.ca
Course: STAT 457
Term: Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Suthaharan Thanabalsingan:
I was sorry to read that you have been struggling with health-related challenges this semester and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop STAT 457 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. I have decided to grant your request based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation.
Please note that if you wish to appeal for a tuition refund, you must submit a separate appeal through the Registrar€™s office. Here is a link for that appeal:

Suthaharan, if your health issues are ongoing, I encourage you to consider registering with QSAS and work with a QSAS advisor who may be able to help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges. Another option, if you feel registering with QSAS is not the best course of action, is to submit a request for Academic Consideration if there are short term health related challenges. That office can assist you with arrangements regarding extension in assignments and deferred exams. Here is link to that process:

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck in your remaining courses.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
