Dear Jake Denison:

I was sorry to read about the extenuating circumstances that you had experienced during the current Winter term and of your health issues that have resulted from these instances. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GEOL 106, DEVS 250, GPHY 254 and GPHY 330 (Winter 2021) past the academic deadline and, after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances as well as the proactive steps that you had taken by obtaining academic consideration when both of your head injuries occurred. I suggest that going forward, if you find that your symptoms continue to impact your academics, that you consider registering for Queens Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) so that you can work with an advisor to help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
