Course: HIST 200
Term: Fall
Year: 2015
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Sujan Shrirangathas:

I have reviewed your appeal to drop HIST 200 (F 2015) after the academic deadline. After careful consideration of the information that you provided in your appeal letter as well as the documentation that you submitted, I have decided to grant your appeal.

Your grade in this course will be replaced with a DR notation on your transcript.

Going forward, I am confident that you will pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies during week 7 of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course by week 8 of term. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Before you return to your studies in the Fall of 2021, I encourage you to consider registering with QSAS. Establishing the appropriate academic accommodations in each of your classes may be able to help you better manage your academics along with your health-related challenges.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
