Dear David Monsen,
I was sorry to have read of your ongoing health issues and the impact that they had on your Fall term classes. I have reviewed your appeal to drop CLST 131, GNDS 120, PHIL 157, and HIST 108 (Fall 2020) after the academic deadline, and I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and am happy to see that you are now connected with the appropriate health care supports and have taken a reduced course load for the Winter term. Going forward, I would suggest that you consider registering for QSAS (if you haven€™t done so already) so that you can work with an advisor to help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Yours sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
