Decision Date: April 12, 2021
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Jessica McLean
Student Email: jmmclean20@gmail.com

Course: PSYC260
Term: Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Jessica McLean:

I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have had a difficult term, in part due to COVID and remote learning. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC 260 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have exercised some leniency in this decision, as the documentation that you supplied indicates a mild academic impact of your extenuating circumstances. However, I acknowledge that you reduced your course load prior to the drop deadline and understand that dropping PSYC 260 at this time would allow you to successfully complete your remaining Winter term courses. Going forward, I am hopeful that you will remain connected with your health care provider and that you will carefully evaluate your progress in your courses and make appropriate academic decisions before the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
