I am sorry to hear that you have had challenges during the term, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop BIOL 102 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have exercised significant leniency in this decision since an appeal to drop a course late would normally require documentation. However, I have noted that you have contacted the Regional Assessment Centre at Queens to inquire about having year learning needs reassessed and that you plan to register with QSAS who can assist you with both your health and your academics. I am also pleased to see that you plan to take one course at a time for now so you can build academic success and work towards a strong GPA and I strongly endorse that decision.
Going forward, I strongly suggest that you carefully review your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of the term and assess whether you are actively engaged in your courses and are completing your assignments on time and to the grade level you would like. If not, you should drop courses by the end of week 8 (the drop deadline). Appeals for late drops are generally reserved for those who encounter problems after week 8 or whose problems become more acute after that date.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
