Student Name: Jazmin Eadie
Student Email: 17jse@queensu.ca

Course: PSYC 202
Term: Fall
Year: 2019
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Jazmin Eadie:

I was understanding when reading of the challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal and I have carefully considered your request to drop PSYC 202 (F 2019) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I can understand how your grades may have been impacted due to the circumstances you outlined, and I am confident that you are now in the habit of informing yourself of the academic regulations concerning deadlines as they are outlined in the Important Dates section on the Arts and Science web page. Please ensure you assess your progress in your courses or discuss your options with an Academic Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Jasmin, I have noted that you are currently registered in an excessive number of courses (6) in the upcoming Summer 2021 term and I strongly suggest that you take note that we recommend a student register in two courses only during the summer term.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
