I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have had difficulties in PHYS 321, in part due to COVID19 and remote learning, specifically the synchronistic schedule. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PHYS 321 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Chai, upon reviewing your transcript I can see that you struggled during the Fall term 2020 as well and I am willing to also drop CISC 101, PHYS 242 and PHYS 432 (F 2020) as well as offer you Credit standing in PHYS 316. Credit standing would change the passing grade you received in PHYS 316 from a D to a CR notation on your transcript which means you would get credit for the course, but the D grade would not bring down your GPA. Please contact asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days of receiving this letter to accept this offer and we will then amend your student record.
Going forward, I suggest you carefully evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline. Let me also advise you of the Academic Consideration service where a student can request short term accommodations if you require leeway with assignment due dates.
