Dear Alexander Traynor,

I was sorry to have read of your ongoing mental health issues and the impact that they have had on your Winter term classes. I have reviewed your appeal to drop ECON 222 and ECON 212 (Winter 2021) after the academic deadline, and I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and recognize that you are unable to catch up on the outstanding work in these classes at this time. I was happy to read that you plan to repeat these courses in a future term and that you have completed the outstanding components from your Fall term classes. I would suggest that going forward, you continue to work with Student Wellness Services and consider reducing your course load until you are better able to manage your academics along with your ongoing extenuating circumstances.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
