I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have had a difficult term due to your ongoing health-related circumstances. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CHEM 112 (FW 2020/2021) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, I am confident that you will pause to evaluate the impact of your health on your studies before the drop deadline during of the term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should consider dropping the course. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the €œImportant Dates€ section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

I also encourage you to consider registering with QSAS so that you can work with an Advisor who can help you manage your academics along with your health-related challenges.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
