Course: CISC 221
Term: Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Jordan Egles:

I was sorry to read in your letter of appeal of the challenges you have outlined, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop CISC 221 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on your plans to continue to work with your health care team and to register with QSAS who will help you manage both your health and your academics. It is my expectation that, once you are registered with QSAS, you will assess your progress in your courses with your QSAS Advisor during week 7 or 8 of the term. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your degree progression.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
