I was sad to have read in your letter of appeal that your uncle passed away and I am very sorry for your loss. No doubt that has been difficult for you to deal with along with the mental health related challenges you have outlined. Based on those circumstances and your documentation, I will grant your appeal to drop HIST 242 and ECON 421 (W 2021) past the academic deadline.
Going forward, I suggest you carefully evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline. Let me also advise you of the Academic Consideration service where a student can request short term consideration if you require leeway with assignment due dates. You may also want to consider longer term accommodation Linshan and if so, I strongly encourage you continue to reach out to our Student Wellness Services. Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
