I am sorry to have read about the family-related challenges that you experienced during the Fall and Winter terms. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop LISC 171 (Winter 2021) after the academic deadline and I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the information that you presented in your appeal letter as well as the documentation that you supplied from your social worker. I acknowledge that your family situation has had an impact on your mental health this academic year and I commend you for connecting with the appropriate support services. Going forward, I am confident that you will evaluate the impact of your health on your courses prior to the academic week 8 drop deadline and drop classes if you find that you have fallen behind or cannot keep up with their academic demands.
