An extenuating circumstance is defined as a significant physical or psychological event that is beyond a student€™s control and debilitating to his or her academic performance. In general, an appeal would be successful when there are significantly extenuating circumstances, which would merit the waiving of an academic regulation.
Going forward, you should pause to evaluate the impact of your life challenges on your studies before the Academic Deadline of each term. If you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult, you should drop the course at that time.
