Decision Letter
Appeal Number: 7571
Decision Date: May 25, 2021
Associate Dean: Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Student Name: Juliet Quinton
Student Email: 17joq@queensu.ca
Course: ENGL 330
Term: Fall/Winter
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Juliet Quinton:
I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that your concussion had lingering effects on your courses and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ENGL 330 (FW 2020/21) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
Going forward, I suggest you carefully evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline. Let me also advise you of the Academic Consideration service where a student can request short term consideration if you require leeway with assignment due dates. Here is the link for information about that process:

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Best of luck in your ongoing recovery.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
