I was sorry to read of the challenges you have outlined in your letter of appeal, and I have carefully considered your request to drop ECON 110, POLS 110, PSYC 100, SOCY 122 (FW 2020/21) and COGS 100 (W 2021) past the academic deadline and receive Credit standing in CLST 102 (F 2020). After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. Your grade CLST 102 will appear on your transcript as CR.

I have granted this appeal based on the severity of your extenuating circumstances and since you are now registered with QSAS. But I need to warn you that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage ongoing problems. The Appeal process is designed for students who encounter problems, or whose problems become acute, after the drop deadline. Instead, I would encourage you to continue to work with your Counsellor and QSAS. A QSAS Advisor can help you manage both your health and your academics. This could include taking a lighter course load and would include evaluating the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
