I have carefully considered your appeal to drop DEVS 392 (Winter 2019), DEVS 260, DEVS 492 (Fall 2019), DEVS 340 and DEVS 393 (Fall 2020) after the academic deadline. After reviewing your file I have decided the following:
1. To deny your request to drop DEVS 392 (Winter 2019) after academic deadline. As you know, courses must be dropped on SOLUS within the published deadlines. The Academic Regulations (Appeal of Academic Decisions, IIIb) stress that exceptions to this will only be waived under extenuating circumstances. The integrity of Arts and Science transcripts in general would be greatly diminished if the Faculty were to effect changes to students€™ records without clear and compelling documentation indicating that the student€™s performance was significantly compromised by circumstances beyond his or her control. I am certainly sympathetic to your situation and realize that this is a disappointing decision, but the documentation that you provided dated February 28, 2019 indicates only that you would benefit from academic accommodations and does not verify the severity of your extenuating circumstances nor the impact that it had had on your Winter term classes.
2. To grant your request to drop DEVS 260, DEVS 492 (Fall 2019) after the academic deadline as I acknowledge the delays that you reported with getting assessed and registered with QSAS. Your grade in these courses will be replaced with a €DR€™ notation.
3. To grant your request to drop DEVS 340 and DEVS 393 (Fall 2020) after the academic deadline due to the severity of your extenuating circumstances as indicated in the documentation that you provided related to this term. Your grade in these courses will be replaced with a €DR€™ notation.
