Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline
Dear Hayden Welsh:
I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have had a difficult term, in part due to COVID and remote learning. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (FW 2020/2021) and GEOL 107 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this appeal due to the information that you reported in your appeal letter but I want you to know that the appeals process is not meant to be used to manage an ongoing chronic condition. Going forward, I would suggest that you continue to remain connected with your health care provider and that you carefully evaluate your progress in your courses and make appropriate academic decisions before the drop deadline.
Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
Sincerely,
Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
