Dear Heidi Landon:

I am sorry to read that you struggled to manage your courses due to challenges related to COVID 19 as well as your health. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop MUTH 111 and MATH 387 (W 2021) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. I would also be willing to drop MUSC 105 based on these same circumstances. If you wish to accept this offer, please email asc.appeals@queensu.ca within 21 days to notify us that you wish to accept this offer.

Going forward, I encourage you to follow through with your plan to meet with a mental health professional and suggest you pause and evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term. If you find you have fallen behind or are not pleased with the grades you are earning, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
