I was sorry to read of the circumstances you outlined in your letter of appeal. No doubt this has been difficult to deal with and I will grant your appeal to drop MUSC 245 (W 2021) past the academic deadline based on that circumstance.

I encourage you to continue to work with your health care team and QSAS who can help support both your health and academics.

Chelsea, going forward, I encourage you to pause and evaluate your progress in courses during week 7 of the term and if you have been unable to keep up with the course requirements or feel that dropping a course is in your best interest, you should do so by the week 8 drop date deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
