Dear Lucas Kessaram:

I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you have had a difficult term and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GPHY 254, ARTH 460 and ARTH 436 (W 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, I suggest you carefully evaluate your progress in your courses during week 7 of the term and if you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the week 8 drop date deadline. Let me also advise you of the Academic Consideration service where a student can request short term consideration if you require leeway with assignment due dates. Here is the link for information about that process:

I strongly encourage you continue to seek support from your health care team and suggest you consider registering with QSAS if your challenges continue. QSAS can help put into place appropriate accommodations to help with both your health and academics.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your degree progression.

Sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
