Dear Katherine Borgert:

I have reviewed your request to complete 15.0 units on an International Letter of Permission for your Bsc (Honours) degree with a Major concentration in BIOL and an Arts Minor in Health Studies at Hanze University of Applied Science in Groningen, the Netherlands. As you know, Regulation 14.4 indicates that €œnormally the last two years of the Honours degree are taken in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen€™s.€ However, due to the reasons outlined in your Appeal Letter, I agree to this request.

You must now apply for an International Letter of Permission through the International Programs Office and I would strongly suggest that you remain closely connected with this office so that you can be made aware of potential disruptions to your international studies if they shall happen.

Note that official transcripts with final grades must be received by the Faculty of Arts and Science Office upon completion of the courses. Please keep in mind that you must achieve a minimum grade of C on each course taken on a Letter of Permission, unless stated otherwise.

Finally, please be advised that a student can complete a maximum of 57.0 transfer units towards their Bsc Honours degree program and a maximum of 12.0 transfer units toward their Minor (see Academic Regulation 16.1.3). As you are planning to take 15.0 units of courses that could potentially transfer toward your Minor in Health Studies, it may be beneficial to meet with an Academic Advisor before these classes begin to ensure that you understand how these courses will apply.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
