I have carefully considered your appeal to return to your studies after having completed the Required to Withdraw for a Minimum of Three Years€ timeframe. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request. You may resume your studies at Queen's University beginning the Summer term 2021.
I see you have been readmitted to Queen€™s, Faculty of Arts and Science with a new basis of admission based on your program and grades from Sheridan Collage and I congratulate you on that.

Please be advised that Academic Regulation 13 currently states that at the end of each Winter Term in which a student has attempted 18.0 or more units since the time of their previous assessment, that student is assessed for academic progression. If, at the time of this assessment, the GPA is below 1.60 an academic sanction is triggered. In your case, since you have a previous requirement to withdraw on your record, that sanction would be a requirement to withdraw for a further three years. The document which will follow this letter contains more detail concerning academic probation and progression but if you have questions about this, please feel free to contact our office at 613-533-2470 and they can arrange an appointment for you to speak with an academic advisor. I strongly suggest that you do speak with an academic advisor if you have not done so already as an Advisor can make helpful suggestions as to how you can improve your GPA to meet the required 1.6 GPA threshold.
A cumulative GPA of 1.60 is also required to graduate with a three-year General degree. I would draw your attention to the full academic regulations, particularly 13 (Academic Standing) and 16 (Requirements to Graduate) in the Arts and Science Academic Calendar: http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/students-at-queens/academic-calendar I would also refer you the GPA calculator tool on the Arts and Science website http://www.queensu.ca/artsci/students-at-queens/gpa-calculators. For your information, if a student repeats a course, the lower grade will be excluded from their GPA and the higher grade will be included. This is considered a good way to improve a grade point average.
As part of your return to studies, I encourage you to take advantage of the many services available including Student Academic Success Service (SASS). They provide a range of services, including workshops designed to improve study skills and develop strategies for meeting the demands of academic life. I also encourage you to continue to work with your health care team and suggest you also consider registering with QSAS who may be able to put in place accommodations and assist you with both your health and your academics.
Let me also advise you of the Academic Consideration service where a student can request short term consideration if you require leeway with assignment due dates. Here is the link for information about that process:

In returning to a regular course of study it is your responsibility to choose courses carefully, seek out the advice necessary to improve your academic performance, and maintain a GPA consistent with the requirements for successful completion of your plan.
