Course: INTS 306
Term: Summer
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Colleen Carolan-Laing:

I am sorry to read that you struggled to manage this course along with challenges related to your health and COVID19. I have carefully considered your appeal to drop INTS 306 (S 2021) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, a good practise for all students is to pause and evaluate progress in courses prior to the drop date deadlines each term, and if a student has fallen behind in courses due to health or other circumstances, students should drop courses by the drop date deadline. Typically, appeals are granted due to circumstances that occur after the drop date deadline.

Colleen, you might like to take note of the academic consideration process where you can request short term consideration if you need leeway with due dates in the future. Here is the link on our web site where you can learn more about that process:

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your degree progression.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
