Course: HIST 242
Term: Summer
Year: 2021
Category: Drop a course after the academic deadline

Dear Tevi Mandel:

I am sorry to have read that you thought you had dropped HIST 242 (S 2021), and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop that course past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have exercised significant leniency in this decision since an appeal to drop a course late would normally require documentation related to an extenuating circumstance. Not being aware that the course was not dropped is not considered an extenuating circumstance and, in the future, I would suggest you check SOLUS after you drop a course to ensure is does show as dropped.

Tevi, in the future, you may want to review the Academic Consideration option which is available to assist students with short term consideration/extensions if needed: https://www.queensu.ca/artsci/search/node/Consideration.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Yours sincerely,

Jenn Stephenson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
