Dear Kevin Omeziri:

I was sorry to read in your letter of appeal the challenges you outlined, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (FW 2020/21) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal based on the circumstances outlined as well as your documentation, but I suggest that you discuss with your health care provider the possibility of registering with QSAS if your challenges will be ongoing. QSAS can assist you with implementing accommodations and will help you manage both your health and your academics.

Going forward, you should carefully assess your progress in your courses during week 7 or 8 of each term during the academic year. If you find that you have fallen behind in your attendance, readings or assignments, it is your responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8 each term. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.

Best of luck in your degree progression.

Yours sincerely,

Jill Atkinson, Ph.D.
Associate Dean (Academic)
