Dear Parker Manktelow:
I was sorry to read in your letter of appeal that you experienced a difficult circumstance recently, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop ANAT 100 (S 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have granted this appeal based on the information presented in your letter of appeal as well as your documentation, but I suggest that you discuss with your health care provider the possibility of registering with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS) if your challenges will be ongoing. QSAS can assist you with implementing accommodations and will help you manage both your health and your academics.
Going forward, a good practice for all students, is to carefully assess their progress in courses during week 7 or 8 of each term. If a student finds that they have fallen behind in attendance, readings or assignments, it is the student??s responsibility to drop courses by the end of week 8. Appeals for late drops are typically only granted when a problem occurs, or becomes acute, after the drop deadline.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by Week 8 is our Academic Consideration service. A student can request short term consideration if they need more time to complete an assignment or had to miss a class. Here is the link for information about that process:

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding.
