I have carefully considered your appeal to drop GNDS 120 and HIST 108 (Fall 2020) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

I have granted this appeal due to the time zone and internet connectivity issues that you outlined in your appeal letter but I want to remind you that going forward, you will be expected to pause to evaluate your progress in each of your courses during week 7 of the term so that you can carefully consider dropping courses that you have fallen behind in a course or find the material too difficult before the week 8 drop deadline. The drop deadlines, as they have been outlined in the ??Important Dates? section on the Arts and Science web page, have been established by the Faculty of Arts and Science to ensure a fair and equitable treatment of all students.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
