I was sorry to read of the health-related challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal and understand how these circumstances may have affected your academics. I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in ECON 110, POLS 110 and PHIL 111 (FW 2020/21); HIST 109, RELS 163 (W 2021) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of your file, I have decided to grant your appeal as follows:


ECON 110 (FW 2020/21) will be dropped late from your transcript. For your information, you did not qualify for Aegrotat Standing in that course since, according to the information received from the instructor, you completed the course requirements and earned a failing grade in the course.

POLS 110 (FW 2020/21) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

HIST 109 (W 2021) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

RELS 163 (W 2021) will appear on your transcript with a grade of C+ along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

PHIL 111 (FW 2020/21) will be granted an extension of an INcomplete grade and you are permitted to complete the outstanding work in that course up to December 30th, 2021 at the latest. It is your responsibility to contact Professor Sismondo to make the appropriate arrangements.

I encourage you to continue to seek support from your health-care team and to register with Queen??s Student Accessibility Services (QSAS). A QSAS Advisor can help you manage the effect of any health-related issues on your academics. I would also suggest that you evaluate the impact of your health on your studies prior to week 8 of term and to drop courses if necessary, at that time.
