I was sorry to read of the challenges you outlined in your letter of appeal, and I am sure the circumstances were difficult to manage. I have reviewed your appeal to change the grades you received in DEVS 392, DEVS 492, HIST 295, RELS 393 (F 2020) to Aegrotat standing. After careful consideration of your file, I have decided to grant your appeal as follows:

HSIT 295 (F 2020) - It appears that your instructor submitted your pro-rated grade of B+ and we will add the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

RELS 393 (F 2020) will appear on your transcript with a grade of B+ along with the notation ??Aegrotat: estimated grade?.

DEVS 392 (F 2020) will be granted an extension of an INcomplete grade and you are permitted to complete the outstanding work in that course up to December 30th, 2021 at the latest. It is your responsibility to contact Professor Pedri-Spade, who has indicated a willingness to permit you to complete the outstanding requirements in this course.

DEVS 492 (F 2020) will be granted an extension of an INcomplete grade and you are permitted to complete the outstanding work in that course up to December 30th, 2021 at the latest. It is your responsibility to contact Professor Pedri-Spade, who has indicated a willingness to permit you to complete the outstanding requirements in this course.

Mercedes, I strongly encourage you continue to work with a health professional if your challenges continue, and to proactively manage the impact of your circumstances on your academics. I also encourage you to carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop date deadline. If you have fallen behind or you are not performing in a course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop date deadline. Appeals based on the same circumstances may not be granted in the future.

As you know, another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date deadline is our Academic Consideration service.
