I am sorry to hear that you have had challenges juggling your responsibilities during the current summer term, and I have carefully considered your appeal to drop RELS 131 (S 2021) past the academic deadline. After reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.
I have exercised significant leniency in this decision since competing demands due to work related responsibilities is not considered a serious extenuating circumstance but since you are a first year student, I have agreed to drop this course late.
Going forward, you should carefully review your progress in your courses prior to the drop date deadlines and assess whether you are actively engaged in your courses and are completing your assignments on time and to the grade level you would like. If not, you should drop courses by the drop deadline. Future appeals will require documentation.
Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date deadline is our Academic Consideration service.
