I was sorry to read of the circumstances you outlined in your letter of appeal. No doubt this has been difficult to deal with and I will grant your appeal to drop PSYC 100 (S 2021) and past the academic deadline based on that circumstance.

I read in your letter of appeal that you would have preferred an Incomplete in this course and have the opportunity to complete the requirements during the Fall term, but after reaching out to the Psychology Department, I was advised that you, understandably, had missed more than the allowed number of absences, so we have proceeded with the appeal as a late drop request.

Laura, I encourage you to seek out support from your health care provider and if your circumstances require ongoing accommodations, and you once again register as a visiting student at Queen??s, you may want to register with QSAS who can help support both your health and academics by putting in place appropriate accommodations so you can meet your course work requirements.

Note that any change in academic registration may impact government or private-firm student financial assistance eligibility and/or funding. Please consult with the Student Awards Office, Office of the University Registrar, Gordon Hall, to understand the potential implications of changes to course or program registration and/or the consequences of not successfully completing the required course load.
