Dear Abdisalam Musse:

I am sorry to have read in your letter of appeal that you were trying to manage your courses while your medications were being adjusted, no doubt that was difficult. I have carefully considered your request to drop POLS 367 and SOCY 306 (F 2020) past the academic deadline and after reviewing your file, I have decided to grant your request.

Going forward, I encourage you to meet with an Academic Advisor to ensure you remain in a position to complete your Honours degree. I also suggest that you carefully evaluate your progress in each of your courses prior to the drop date deadline. If you have fallen behind or you are not performing in the course to your satisfaction, you should drop courses by the drop deadline so that you do not accumulate any further failures.

Another tool to manage your academics in addition to dropping a course by the drop date is our??Academic Consideration service.?? A??student can request short term??consideration??if they experience an extenuating circumstance and they need more time to complete an assignment or have to miss a class.
